Tasmanian tourism contributes more than $1 billion annually to the state economy

New research released today has revealed that tourism in Tasmania delivered over $1 billion to the state economy in the 2006-07 period. This represents 4.9% of the state’s total industry revenue, exceeding the scale of the tourism industry’s contribution to the national economy of 3.7%.
