Recreation and Tourism Value of Western Australia's ParksSustainable Tourism CRC's innovative modelling, evaluation and analysis methodologies have provided clear data on the contribution of funds from national parks and other protected areas to regional economies. Findings uncovered included the fact that the Gascoyne Region, home to Ningaloo Marine Park, contributed around $123m to the local economy in 2003, prompting state government investment of over $8m.
