Network

The STCRC Network has been re-established to strengthen and broaden information sharing and discussion for the benefit of STCRC partners, other industry stakeholders and STCRC management for the purpose of delivering research outcomes supporting the tourism and related industries. It is comprised of a large body of academic, industry and government participants involved and/or interested in the STCRC and their outputs.

The following Network Coordinators, who will convene two annual meetings for their state/territory, were appointed in August 2008:

 QLD

 Michelle Clarke - Tourism Queensland
 NSW

Jayson Westbury - Australian Federation of Travel Agents
 VIC

 John Dalton - Tourism Victoria
 SA

Pauline Coates – South Australian Tourism Commission
 WA

Colin Ingram - Department of Environment and Conservation
 NT

Justin Vaughan - Tourism NT and

A/Prof Pascal Tremblay - Charles Darwin University

ACT and Tasmanian Network meetings will be coordinated by the STCRC.

The role of the Network meetings will be to:

  • Provide networking opportunities for all STCRC partners and a wider group of industry stakeholders. (National tourism organisations and associations, State and Territory branches of national industry associations, State/Territory government agencies with an interest in STCRC outcomes and State Tourism Industry Councils, will be invited to participate in network meetings.)
  • Discuss new research project ideas.
  • Gain a broad understanding of STCRC activities. The STCRC CEO or the Director of Research will attend each network meeting with a presentation on research, education, extension and commercialisation activities.
